Coaching FAQs

Q: What is a business coach?

From Websters: "Business coaching is the practice of providing support and advice to an individual or group in order to help them recognize ways in which they can improve the effectiveness of their business."

Our coaching provides a balance of instruction, feedback, and accountability - carefully crafted to support each coaching client's needs.

Q: What are the benefits to hiring a coach?

Coaching can often be the difference between frustration and results. We teach our clients how to better attract, service, and retain affluent clients. Some coaching clients need the basics; others need to fine-tune their current efforts.

Our clients become more focused, more productive and more excited about the business than they've ever been before.

Q: What type of advisor is best suited to coaching?

Coaching works for all types of advisors. We work with young and old, male and female, from wirehouses, RIAs and everything in between. Some people come to us with no clients and we help them build a profitable business from the ground up. Others come to us with massive books of business and we help them create a more efficient practice. Our coaching is highly customized based on each unique situation.

Q: How do you select coaches?

We take great pride in selecting the best coaches available. We get scores of resumes every year, but only a few select candidates make the cut. Our coaches are committed to excellence - for their clients and themselves. After all, you can't coach what you don't do.

Q: What are some of the areas covered in a typical coaching relationship?

We cover all aspects of attracting, servicing and developing loyal affluent clients. Here are a few topics we cover in detail:

Q: How do I start the process?

The Pre-coaching Business Profile is the first step in exploring a coaching relationship with The Oechsli Institute. This profile gives us a basic look at your practice so we can determine if there's a fit between your needs and our services.

After you submit the profile, one of our Performance Coaches will call you for an initial consultation. This consultation is designed to make sure we have a full understanding of your practice and to make sure we both feel confident that we could have a good working relationship.
